Saturday, November 28, several rallies will be held throughout France against the criminalization of the malicious dissemination of the image of police officers. From Jean-Luc Mélenchon to Yannick Jadot, a few elected officials from the left and environmentalists will be present at Place de la République in Paris.

Saturday, November 28, several people plan to take to the streets to say no to article 24 which penalizes the malicious dissemination of the image of the police. Gatherings will be organized throughout France to oppose this provision of the controversial “global security” bill .

In order to appease the detractors of this text, the Prime Minister, Jean Castex had announced the opening of a commission for "a new rewriting" of article 24 - adopted by the National Assembly last week - before finally go back.

And the anger of the demonstrators has not subsided. Quite the contrary. In Paris, a "March of freedoms" was initially scheduled between République and Bastille, but the latter was banned by the police headquarters for health reasons. Instead, a static rally is allowed.

Despite this ban, the organizers of the demonstration - the journalists' unions and some human rights associations - decided to keep the march. The # StopLoiS SécuritéGlobale coordination reaffirmed its willingness to parade on Saturday on the planned route. "We will go and we will march to defend this freedom," she wrote in a statement.

At their side, a few politicians confirmed their arrival on the Place de la République - notably on the left of the political spectrum. On the side of the ecologists, the president of the party Europe Ecology The Greens (EELV), Yannick Jadot, announced his presence at this gathering. He will be accompanied for the occasion by Julien Bayou, National Secretary of EELV and Senator Esther Benbassa.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon has confirmed his presence

The colors of rebellious France (LFI) will also be visible during this rally. Its president Jean-Luc Mélenchon has indeed confirmed his arrival. Following the adoption of article 24 by the National Assembly, the 2022 presidential candidate called on deputies to "reverse". Some LFI elected officials also said they would be present. Among them, the deputies Eric Coquerel, Clémentine Autain and Daniele Obono. The MEP Manon Aubry and the vice-president of the LFI group at the National Assembly Mathilde Panot will also make the trip.

On the side of the Socialist Party, its First Secretary, Olivier Faure, has also formalized his participation in the Paris rally. A few days ago, he stepped up to the plate against the “global security” bill by declaring on France Inter that “ France cannot sign for that”

I have ambitions and goals in my life, and I am now trying to achieve them calmly, as the name also came on my channel and website.
